When the sky turns dark having the correct lighting will ensure that the place is brightly lit up. Not only is having lighting in the backyard increasing   your  visibility, it also helps deter potential intruders. Besides improving the aesthetics of the place it will help to keep your house safe if you are living in a landed property.  Having the place properly lit also makes the place safer for yourself as it would help to prevent any accidents as you can see where you are going. There will be lesser chance of you tripping over and injuring yourself.

Hubbardton Forge Lighting have  lovely outdoor lighting which I would love to have in my backyard.  I like how their Hubbardton Forge Dark Sky compliant outdoor sconce compliments the wall decor. The lighting will surely suit the outdoor furniture which I have in mind for the backyard and make the place more cozy and inviting. With a well lit backyard we could have more family parties and barbeques in the backyard and the kids would have more fun.

If you don’t have the budget for  outdoor lightnings the for the backyard there is no need to worry. You can check out  if there are any lightning liquidation sales in your area. You may be able to get the lighting you are looking for at a bargain and be able to have just as nice lighting’s for your backyard.

Blog Positivity Week-Why I am here

I saw this button over at After Nine to Five and fell inclined to join in the fun for the week.  Not all of you know but Dominique’s Desk was not the first blog which I created. I started blogging at private blog named AstrobearRyan on blogspot and from there moved over to WordPress. After being there for awhile I decided it was time to move to self hosted and that’s when this blog was born back in Dec 2007.

Why I blog

I love writing and enjoy being able to put thoughts to words and express myself.  The blog is also a channel where I keep the rest of the family who are abroad up to date on the growth/progress of the kids.  I also find it therapeutic to be able to pen down my daily thoughts and emotions.

What have I gained from blogging?

I’ve made many new friends and learned a lot about blogging and social media since I’ve been online. I love the blogging community and the support that I have been blessed with through these years. Joining the various communities/forums I have learned a lot on how to be a better parent, writer and friend. Even though there has been both positive and negative experiences I do believe that the blogging community as a whole are made up of nice people who are willing to help you out in your time of need.

I cherish all the friendships that I’ve made online and offline through blogging and it has been a real learning journey that has helped to cultivate me into a better person.

I’ve been introduced to many new items and have had the privilege to test out many products and applications which my family and I have benefited from.

Blogging has opened up many new avenues for me as I strive to switch from a FTWM to a WAHM so that I can give my family  my full attention while assisting in bringing home the bacon.
