I’ve Got a Crush on You

I remember back then when I was in university many of my friends were pairing up and going out as couples. It was a fun time and new experience for me building relationships with those of the opposite gender. Coming from an all girls school I had limited chances interacting with guys who I’m not related to or under close supervision by my family members.
Staying on campus gave me the opportunity to get to know many different guys. There was a particular guy who really caught my eye.
He wasn’t those type of guy which could be labeled under tall, dark and charming or a playboy. He was those which you were certain your parents would approve if you ever brought him back home to meet them. The stable type.
Being of medium built he was slightly taller then me. Bespectacled and clean shaven he looked a bit bookish at the first glance. He was slightly tan and had good skin. What drew my attention to him was that he could cook and that the food actually tasted nice. He also was really comfortable to be with and we got along well.
It didn’t matter to me that he didn’t have a flashy car or designer clothes. He was focused on getting good grades in the Uni instead of just partying away. He was easy to talk to and we shared common interests in watching action flicks and computer gaming.
We were in different classes as he was a 2nd year student while I was just into my first semester on campus. We normally met during dinner time in the communal canteen and when we went out on group outings hosted by the overseas students association. On occasions I would bump into him at the computer labs and strike up conversations with him.
What happened to him?
I guess that those who know me should know by now… we got married. 10 years on and 3 kids later I still am very much in love with him.

I was thinking how would your hubby react if he reads about your crush and then I came to the ending and realised it… Aww…what a sweet story!

YEAH!! I was hoping you married this great guy. What a happy ending. He sounds like a keeper:) Somehow my crushes were always the “bad” guys but in the end I went with the nice, stable, non-flashy, nerdy/geeky guy:)

Sounds like you got a great guy. I liked finding a guy I was comfortable with too. Not flashy, but just a steady worker, stable, considerate and one who loves me.

I like the happy ending. 🙂 I did worry a bit there that it wasn’t going to end that way.

Damn me, I had to skip to the end to see if you did make it, then I went back to read the rest. I do this every time to myself, I just HAVE to know. Silly isn’t it? So glad you did marry though 😉
