As the popular saying goes ” Time and Tide waits for no man”
There is only 24hrs a day so there are limits to which tasks one can complete each day.
This week in school we are covering the unit about ” Our Future”. In one of the the workbook activities the students have to list down the meaning of ” Saving Time”, “Making Time” ” Party Time” etc in their own words.
Going through the activity with them in class made me think about how I have been going around with my own time management. Things have been better since we started the family schedule.
Sometimes as a parent and a friend we feel obliged to do ” extra” for the people we care about. However by saying “Yes” it may make a significant impact on your quality of life and be detrimental to self and family. There comes a time where it is also necessary to say ” No” to be able to live a balanced family life.
I have learn to say “NO” to some freelance projects which I had been given this month. If it is going to eat into family time and not significantly improve our financial status then it is not worth the time and effort to accept the project. Don’t you agree with me?
Given the current economic downturn, I have learned to be extremely selective when choosing my clients. I will only work with those that can afford my rates as it is not worth sacrificing my limited time for fussy clients who give merger pay.
Time can be better spent educating the boys or getting them to help out with the housework. The boys are at an age where they need the most attention and guidance and are definitely worth making time for.
How do you allocate your time?

Time management can be tricky. I usually put my family first when I manage my time. But as a work at home mom this is very difficult.
