Roy’s 2nd Birthday Cake
Baked and decorated this for Roy’s birthday celebration in playschool today.
It is a 2 layer chocolate cake with nutella filling. Covered with fondant and buttercream deco. It took me 5hrs (including baking) to get this cake done. The kids in school were thrilled to see a car cake. I named it Timmy- the Thomas and Friends wannabe car.
Just if you are wondering I modelled the shape and colour after our own car.
Ryan was suprised to see the car cake when I brought it to school. He told me, ” Mummy you made our car for Roy” ” Why does it have a face and mouth and nose? Our car can’t see or eat or smell.”
“Hmm ..darling the cake is suppose to look cute and cartoonish so that it’s more appropriate for your brother’s 2nd birthday. ” I replied. I’m not sure if he got what I was trying to explain to him though.
Anyway the boys and classmates loved the cake and the whole 2kg cake was completely eaten with 1/2 hr. 🙂
Now on to planning my bakes for Xmas day itself.

I wish I knew how to bake and decorate better cakes. It’s on my Bucket List. LOL! Which, unfortunately, means the wee ones will be too old to enjoy my culinary delights.
