Another month has just zoomed by and the kids have been back in school for about a month now.  Everyone is back to “School mode” and there has been quite a lot of surprises that happened this month.

First of I manage to complete blogging about our holiday to Hong Kong  last month. It was a fun but tiring trip due to the hot weather. Maybe in the future if it is possible we will schedule our next trip in December instead where it is cooler.

Playing at  an Arcade is certainly a lot of fun. The kids had quota filled with three trips to the arcade during our vacation.  Talk about playing to the max!!

Since the trip to the Hong Kong Science Museum  I have been doing quite a lot of thinking on how I have been living my life so far. The decisions that I have made and  how I aim to live a more purposeful life.

I shared about the 10 Underlying Principles to follow and how I am working towards a better relationship with all those around me.

July was a month of surprises which were both sweet and bitter.

It was great to receive positive affirmation from Monkey boy.  It’s one of the confirmations that I get from the kids that they appreciate what I have been doing for them and the family these few years.

I was also glad to meet up with some of my ex-classmates which I haven’t seen for the past 20 years since high school at the recent Alumni dinner.  I manage to re-connect with a couple of secondary school classmates and it was great to see that they are doing well and enjoying their family & work life.

I started a new series on the blog You & Me = US where I explore more in-depth the feelings and thoughts that I have been having.

Health is an issue that one should not take lightly.  Healthy eating and having more greens and fruits is certainly on my agenda.

This month we received the unfortunate news that R’s grandmother passed away. She was 96 years old and had been staying in an old folks home for the past few years due to ailing health.  We were sad to see her leave us but we know that she is in a better place now and free from the bodily pains that she used to suffer.

How was your July like?

Writer’s Workshop: Great time to plant a Bloom

It’s the 2nd half of the year and there has been a lot of changes this month as the kids move into a new school term.

The boys have extra classes in school and I’m  busy juggling their schedule, work and studies this semester.  This month I’ve signed up for  a Photo reading course to improve my learning ability. I hope with this new skill I will be able to read faster, retain the information that I need and use it when needed.

Now is the time to start ” sewing” new seeds before the year end harvest.  Techniques that have worked well  will be continued and those which didn’t work be adapted to increase it’s effectiveness.

In June I have been doing quite a bit of reading and came across these wonderful  set of principles in one of the books I read.

10 Underlying Principles to follow

  1. We each have the ability to make decisions.
  2. You do have the ability to make a choice.
  3.  Everything in your life is your personal responsibility.
  4.  Feelings are your guiding light.
  5.  Everything vibrates and either attracts similar vibrations or repels dissimilar vibrations.
  6.  The more you do something, the more it becomes a habit.
  7.  What you see around you is what you are thinking and feeling on the inside.
  8.  It’s only true until it’s not.
  9.  Reality is only a reality based upon your perception.
  10.  When you live with the feeling of love, life is easier.

I feel that these are great principles to follow.  Everything that we do affects our well-being and the way we live our lives.

Reflecting on them  has made me understand myself better and I’m more at peace.

What have you learned this June?

Anything interesting to share?
