Tarts and Dinner on a Friday

Peach Tart and Apple Tart
Over the weekend we brought the kids out for tea time. They chose to eat tarts instead of the usual slices of cakes which we order. I personally find tarts a bit too sweet for my liking and I’m keeping off eating them to reduce having unwanted calories.

Our dinner
I’ve been trying to introduce more vegetables to the kids and learning to cook different types of soups for them. In the above shot there is salad , boiled corn, winter melon with meatball soup, vegetable fried with fish cake and cucumber gratin. I’m trying out various traditional Chinese soups so that the kids will be able to savor a mixture of both Chinese and Western soups throughout the week.

It’s really hard to encourage kids to eat veggies but if we introduce more varieties and more ways to prepare them, probably we can encourage the kids to like them later.

Been trying to eat healthy this year so lots of fruits and veggies for me. 🙂 I’m staying away from cholesterol and too much sugar.

The tart looks delicious.
One thing to introduce veggies to your kids is my masking them. Try to use veggies as replacement to other dish. Also, introducing veggies at very young age is a thing parents should do.

am trying to make meals with soups, too. i love adding in veggies that my sons (and I, lol) would normally not eat, and blend them, together with a bit of ginger/garlic. 🙂
thanks so much for sharing and linking over at Food Friday, Dominique
enjoy the rest of the week!
