Tackle and Random Thought on Tuesday
It’s the 2nd day of the week and already the laundry is starting to pile up. In our household laundry must be done everyday or it ends up a mountain high on the living room sofa.
The boys room is also in a mess with their toys strewn all over the place. I constantly tell them to clean up their room before going to bed each night. Apparently the daily reminders are not very effective and I will have to come up with something more creative to ensure that they are doing their chores properly.
I’ve been wanting to sterelise the baby’s toys and repack the toy chest but just haven’t gotten around to actually doing it. Hopefully I will find the energy to get it done this week as it has been on my To-Do-List for this month.
Once I tackled the baby’s stuff I will move on to the boys toys which is in itself an extremely massive job with their 100 over toys in their toy cabinet.
Another major WIP tackle for me is getting the 6mth old baby to sleep longer at night. I’m out of ideas on how to lengthen her sleeping hours. She STILL wakes three to four times a night.
I have done the following.
1. Increase her semi-solid intake to twice a day and given her a bigger portion.
2. Try to tire her out more before sleeping time at night by playing with her.
It doesn’t really seem to work as she still wakes up so frequently to nurse and she is already eating quite a bit for her age.
Tiger girl now weighs around 8.7kg at 6months 2 weeks old. Her 2 older brothers were also about the same weight and size back then so I’m not too bothered whether she is on the heavy side ( She’s about 95 percentile of the chart for babies this age.) as I’m sure she will be slimming down and become less chubby once she starts crawling and walking.
Any suggestions?

I had troubles with Bruiser when he was that age. The kid did not sleep well at all. Maybe try letting her fuss a bit when she wakes at night to see if she will go back to sleep? Our problem was that Bruiser was an escalator–if he woke up enough he just fussed himself awake. We tried everything, but we just had to let him get bigger.

hi there! I’ve long given up picking up stuffs in my son’s playroom. It’s just never ending battle with the legos, cars, robots, etc…I hope one day, we would all make it a project to sort the lego parts by size and colors..it would be a dream come true for me. I don;t know when he will realize it’s easier to build if they are sorted..
and oh, I hate folding the laundry:(
can’t we just have a dryer which would produce folded laundry after they’ve dried the clothes?
Nice reading here Dominique:)

Laundry seems to be a never-ending cycle, doesn’t it? Princess Nagger is terrible about picking up her toys, too – it always looks like a mini tornado went through the house! 🙂
Sometimes changing the initial bedtime to a later time helps – then they’re not thinking it’s just a nap…you know, like 10pm. That seemed to work with Princess Nagger (along with the things you’re already doing). Good luck with that!
Thanks so much for linking up! 🙂

@Stacy,
thanks for your suggestion. My boys sleep quite late- bedtime is about 10pm and I try to get the girl to sleep before that so I have time to settle the boys into bed after reading to them. It will be nearly impossible getting them to bed if their little sis is still awake and screaming away… I just hope that her sleeping pattern changes when she gets older.

I know what you mean about laundry piling up like a mountain. I have the same problem… but I took care of it today! Hopefully now I can stay on top of it! I also am tired of needing to daily remind my kids to clean up after themselves… looking for a better solution. Good luck with your goals!
