May Edition Meet Me On Monday

Last weekend I completed my bread baking class. The certificate of course completion was handed out to all the students at the lesson. 4 weeks have really whizzed passed very quickly. During these four weeks I have learned a lot about bread baking and how it is not really what I am passionate about. It can take anywhere between 6-18 hrs to bake a loaf of bread. A lot of time is spend waiting for the bread to be proof before it can be scored and placed in the oven to bake. The actual baking time can be from 7-25 mins which is relatively lesser time taken as compared to baking a cake.
I think that I won’t continue doing sourdough bread as it takes way too long to get it up and “active” while making a loaf. I’ll stick to using instant yeast if I am baking bread again. I feel that making cakes is certainly much easier and my next quest will be learning how to make mousse cakes and more fancy cakes.
This week I am sharing another Korean song. Here is Girl’s generation singing their hit-“The Boys”

Questions:
1. I wish _________
I could have more hours in a day so that I am able to get enough time to do all that has to be done PLUS time to have sufficient hours to sleep.
2. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
I would like to fast forward and see how if the kids do settle down and get married in the future.
3. Do you like to cook?
Yes I do. I like trying out new recipes if I do have the time to.
4. What do you like to do to get exercise?
Climbing stairs and walking.
5. How tidy are you?
I try to get things organized and de-clutter regularly but it doesn’t seem to be happening as often as I would like.

We have a bread maker, but the things really come out more as paper weights….I think we’re doing something wrong.
As for your questions:
1) More hours in the day…DEFINITELY (although I’m sure I’d fill them up)
2) The dynamics at my parents’ wedding.
3) I looove to cook. Although, I’d love even more to have a sous-chef, and a bigger kitchen.
4) Jogging.
5) I am TIDY, but not necessarily a clean freak. I like things in their place, but am unlikely to dust:)

@Kenny,
we do have a bread maker at home which I have really yet to use it. As far as I know bread that is made using the bread maker comes out dense. Fluffy bread needs to be baked in a proper oven.

I don’t mind the cooking much if I don’t have to do it too often…and plan.

The song had me wanting to dance 🙂
I cook but not sure I exactly like it LOL Your bread looks yummy!
Have a wonderful week 🙂

There’s nothing better than the smell & taste of homemade bread, but the kneading & rising is so time consuming! I’ve become a big fan of frozen bread dough & frozen pizza dough…great taste, no kneading – just thaw, rise & bake!

New recipes are the best thing to cook.

The music at the very beginning is awesome in this one! Really makes ya wanna get up and dance. The rest of the song is nice, too. Thanks for joining us on the Love Train today. Keep the groove going! =D

I bet the bread making class was fun. I would LOVE to do that with my little ones.

I really don’t mind making bread, unless it’s one of the really sticky ones. Then it kind of freaks me out when the dough sticks to my hands when I’m trying to knead it. I bet it was fun taking the classes. You’ll have to show us all of your fancy cakes when you make them!!

I love making bread, but because of the damage to my spine and nerves, I don’t have the strength to knead it myself. I use my bread maker and and some potato flour and dried milk from the King Arthur Flour Co. It helps make the bread more fluffy and delicious.
As for your song pick for Monday’s Music, I have to say the girls are beautiful, but it really isn’t my kind of music. Thanks for playing along this week and for always supporting our meme.
BTW, I really like the way you redid your blog, it looks really nice. =)

The bread looks great! What kind of bread is it? I do enjoy making sourdough, but just bread with instant yeast is so much faster. You are a great reminder. I have to go out and make bread right now, or else there won’t be any for tomorrow. Thanks for sharing the song.
