Weekend Reflections: Gaining Peace
At the beach
Sometimes our life gets all stormy. Life throws us a curve ball which hits smack in the stomach. It makes you feel sick in the stomach and really hope that you could have a magic wand and turn things around in an instance. You get uptight and edgy and feel extremely stressed up as things are not going they way you expect them to be.
At times like this that one needs to pause and take a break. You need to re-assess the situation at hand to see why the methods of application hasn’t achieved the desired results. Do you need to take a new approach or apply a tweak to your current methods? To continue to pursue it or to let go?
Choices and decision are never easy. With 50% chance of failure and 50% chance of succeeding. The results can go anywhere and after running around in a full circle you may end up back at Stage One.
Sometimes we give up even before trying as we find that it is getting too complicated for us and we don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our minds get clouded and we may not be able to think straight.
Turning to GOD is the best choice for one in this situation. Looking to him and entrusting ourselves not only free us from our burdens but helps us to calm down and think rationally. Getting back the inner peace which we need will help restore the order that we need in our lives.

I find downtime gets me back to the calm…I don’t often take it and I should find more time for it! Not only that but I often find I do my most creative thinking when I allow myself down time too…

I need to return to center, I like to go to nature. It’s where I feel closer to peace.

Dominique I love your message simple and powerful. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have God to depend on.

If things don’t go the way we expect it, it only means God has something better instore for us. Keep the faith.

Yeah these are times like this. I restore calm by listening to inspirational songs and classical music. Don Moen and Bukas Palad are among my favorites. For the classical, I love Chopin and Beethoven. 🙂

How do I restore the calm? Well, prayers do restore the calmness inside me. The assurance I get from God is all I need to get back my peace of mind. Also, I usually have quiet time when I don’t think of any thing.
