Fresh Bread on a Friday

Bread Fresh from the Oven

Bread Fresh from the Oven

A few weeks back I decided to make good my promise to my friend V and Chef W that I will do some bread baking after completing my bread baking class in June 2012.   I’m starting it slow by doing a Victorian Milk loaf bread as my first bake for the year.

It takes an awful long time to bake bread as compared to making cake. I had to prepare the poolish in the morning and wait till the evening before I could start on the bread. It takes 8hrs for the poolish to be ready and another 3 hrs for the bread to be proof and ready for baking. It was nearly midnight when I placed the bread in the oven to be baked.

It turned out great and the kids and R loved eating it with jam for breakfast the next day.

Have you been doing any baking this week?
