Weekend Reflections- Despicable Me

WeekendReflections

This weekend we caught the new Pixar 3D animated movie – ” Despicable Me”. At first look Ryan thought the yellow little characters look like the Mighty Beanz toys that he recently was gifted by Uncle Oliver.

Even though this show was classified as a G-rated show  I do not feel that the jokes and violence inside are suitable for kids to watch.  We didn’t bring the boys to watch the show as we still feel that they are not able to sit through a full length movie at their age. Maybe when they are 5 and 8 they will be able to watch their first movie in the cinema with us.

The story revolves around Gru and his plot to steal the moon. From an early age he had always been fascinated with traveling to the moon but his mother had not been very supportive of his ambition.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

The story ends well with him becoming a Dad to the three girls and the moon being place back in the sky after it was shrinked and brought back to earth by him.

I love the animation and the show was very action packed however I still wonder if it would be better if we had chosen to watch Toy story instead.

Writers Workshop- What I would change in my life if I could

Mama's Losin' It

This week as part of my entry for Mama Kat’s writer’s workshop I will be writing on the prompt

1.) What would you change about your life if you could?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m very happy with my current state in life. Even though the days are getting more exhausting and I will be facing a heavier workload once baby #3 is born it is something that I am looking forward to.

If I could change something in my life I would like to have seen and visited more places before settling down.  It would have been nice if I had the chance to visit Europe with R before the boys were born. I guess that I would have to wait another 10 years before this wish may become a reality for me . The kids are at present too young to be left in the care of relatives if we are to jet off on a two week vacation.

I would like to have continue and get my Masters instead of just stopping at a degree. It would certainly help with future job prospects if I do intend to switch job or climb further up the career ladder.

I would continue in pursuing my studies in French and Japanese so that I can be more affluent in these two languages.

What would you like to change in your life if you could?
