Weekend Reflections- Mama Needs a Break

The month long confinement is finally coming to a break. I really hate being cooped up in the house on the weekends while everyone else can go off to the park  or out shopping. It can be very depressing  having to stay in the house day and night to care for the infant while everyone else can go about with their normal daily routine.

Maybe the post baby blues are getting to me and the longing to fit back into the pre-baby clothes.  I’m really bored with having minimal adult conversation and seeing the numbers on the weighing scale not falling fast enough.

I don’t think it is really the lack of sleep causing me to feel all so frustrated at times. It has been almost 7 years and I have yet to have uninterrupted sleep. I guess that I have to wait till all of them are toilet trained and sleeping through the night before having the luxury of  proper sleep.

The night feeds/diaper changes  2-3 hourly throughout the day is extremely monotonous. Even though it is part of the package of looking after a newborn I am really looking forward to a change in such a routine.

A change of scenery or environment will certainly lift my spirit.  I want to hop on a plane and jet off to a foreign country and enjoy visiting their museums and place of interest. It will be fun shopping in the city and having a different experience.

I want some time off from the kids and more time with R as a couple or with the baby. I need to recharge before being able to cope with the hassles of dealing with all three kids single handedly.

This Mama needs a Break!!

Writer’s Workshop- My Neighbourhood

Mama's Losin' It

This week on Writer’s Workshop I’ll be talking about Prompt #2

Show us where you live. Not on a map (security please), but take a picture of the view out your front door, back door, or neighborhood.

The place where I live is always buzzing with activity. Here are some pictures of what is in our neighbourhood.

The train station at the central.

Manicured plants and walkway around our town.

The type of flats that we live in.

How does your neighbourhood look like?
