SOC: Being Home for Christmas

#SOCsunday
This week is a much better week then it was last week as Doggie boy is finally back to the pink of health. He really enjoyed himself during his birthday celebration and have been super thrilled with the presents which he has received. R is back from his final business trip for the year. It is great to have him back home and in time for Christmas. This year will be extra special as we will be having a small party over at our house on Christmas Eve. We have decided to have a small one and skip the big gathering/buffet that is being held at one of the aunt’s place with her husband’s relatives. It has been really awkward going to X’mas parties whereby you don’t know half of the guest and they were all part of their own “family clan”. Also with the 3 kids and limited space for them to move around it makes more sense having one at home where everyone can be more at ease. I don’t have to be on the constant look out for the kids and fearful that they break or spill something on the expensive rugs etc.

How are you and your family celebrating Christmas this year?

Doggie boy has been very happy this week. He received a new bullet train and additional train tracks to add on to his train track collection. Just look at the huge intertwining tack he create on the floor.Ā  Are your boys into train sets too?

1. What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

It would have to be my new ASUS laptop that I receieved from R for this Christmas. Talk about Santa delivering presents early this year šŸ˜›

2. Worst/Funniest White Elephant gift ever received?

I don’t give White Elephant gifts. However if you are interested to readĀ  this was theĀ  Worst Gift Ever .

3. Is your Christmas tree plain and simple (white lights and matching ornaments) or is it wand crazy (colored lights with lots of ornaments collected over the years)?

It’s really space age as it’s invisible. You have to use your imagination in order to see it. ( We are not putting up any trees this year)

4. “How” do you iron your clothes? The old fashioned iron/ironing board way, the shower, back in the dryer, etc.

I use the iron/ironing board way. Actually I seldom iron clothes as R irons his shirts himself.

5. How much baking do you do for Christmas and what are your “must make” items? (I’m looking for recipes here, peeps…)

IĀ  will be baking 2 butterscotch butter cakes for Christmas as requested by my mum. However chocolate chip cookies are “must make” items for the kids to enjoy.

1.Ā  Having a romanticĀ  candlelit dinner with soft music is my ideal winter night.

2. I don’t remember the last time I had a date out with RĀ  but, I really want to.

3. I will never turn down an opportunity to meet up with my gal friends/buddies

4. To save money I like to plan carefully what needs to be bought each week before making the purchases.

Fun, exciting, chaotic, vibrant, passionate, lovely

1. What in the 2011 has proved to you that you are a survivor?
Ā I managedĀ  to survive all the solo moments that I had handling all the 3 kids in sickness and health while R was frequently away on business trips.

2. Have you ever stayed online for a very long time waiting for someone?

Yes. I have waited a few hours sometimes for R to get online so that we can talk via Skype when he is away on business trips.

3. Are REALLY ready for the holidays?

Yes. I’m done with the Christmas shopping and will be starting on the baking/cooking soon.

4. Did you have an imaginary friend as a kid?Ā  No.

5. What niche network do you watch the most? Cartoon Network.. does that count? The other choice would be Disney Junior as that’s what the kids watch on TV.

6. Have you ever seen the ocean?
Ā Yes. In fact we were just there last week when we visited the Nusa Dua Beach at Bali, Indonesia.

7. Have you ever been hospitalized?

Yes. However it was only for the birth of my three kids.

8. What do you think of the US Republican candidates for president?
No comments on this as I don’t follow the US politics as it doesn’t affect me.

9. Could you imagine life without a computer? No.
