Gold Glamour Sandal for me and a Rose shoe for Tiger girl

Gold Glamour Sandal for me and a Pink Baby Rose Flat  for Tiger girl

Shopping for shoes has never been an easy task for me. I’ve been always very particular about the level of  comfort and durability of shoes.

Choosing shoes for myself

Shoes should fit like a glove and not cause any discomfort even after extended use  when I need to do a lot of walking around for the day.  The shoes that I  wear have to be able to withstand my hectic lifestyle and also jazz up my chosen outfit for the day.

Choosing shoes for my girl

When I shop for shoes for Tiger girl I take into consideration that the pair that we decide on has to be able to give her enough support for her growing feet. It has to be breathable and enable her to wriggle her little toes while wearing it. She should be able to run, skip and hop happily while wearing them.

Tiger girl was super excited when I told her that we were going shoe shopping on earlier on this week.

She has been pestering me for new shoes as her existing pair was giving way as it  after been too well worn.

Tiger girl requested for “Sparkly” shoes to match the  princess dresses which I recently bought for her.

She loves shiny and sparkling accessories and was really thrilled that she was getting some bling bling on her shoes too to match her existing wardrobe.

The marketing & communications executive served us while we were in the shop. She introduced the various different  designs and gave suggestions on suitable choices for Tiger girl.

After deliberating for a long time , Tiger girl  narrowed down her choice to two pairs- The Baby Rose Flat and the Gold baby flat.

Initially I wanted to get matching mother and daughter as it was available option  however the adult  version of the designs that she chose were not that comfortable for me so I decided on  selecting other designs instead.

With the hot weather here in Singapore having a nice pair of sandals is a must. This sandal adds a dose of glamour and whimsy to any outfit with its  buckled ankle strap and pearl detailing with metallic trim.  This shoe from their Spring/ Summer 2015 collection  goes well with both jeans or summer dresses.  It was certainly a pair that I would have to get.

Don’t the shoes look good on our feet?

After selecting my 1st pair of shoe I moved on to select another pair for myself. I was deliberating between taking a pair of heels or flat and  was given several shoes to try on.

In the end I selected the  Gold  Glamor Sandal and a Gold Loafer as these two pairs were the most suitable for me out of their wide selection.

These loafers were really comfortable and they fitted my feet like a glove. They were also similar to the pair which Tiger girl chose earlier on.

Admiring the view at Tam Shui

The scene at Dam Shui

During the last trip to Taiwan we visited the port city of Tam Shui.   We set off for the place after breakfast and had a casual walk along  Tamsui Old Street and waterfront (淡水老街) before the lunchtime crowd came.

The waterfront

The waterfront

Walking along the waterfront reminded me of being in Stanley , Hong kong as they too had a really lovely waterfront to walk along.

It was really nice to see both the hills and the water together at the same place.

While walking along the streets at Dan Shui we came across this art work embedded in a sidewalk.

The church across the street

It was really interested to see how art resembled the actual building with both directly opposite each other.  I didn’t get to go inside the church as there was a mass on.

A monument along the street

A monument of Dr Mackay  along the street

There is a lot of focus on culture and history in the area as we saw many statues of famous people while walking along the streets.  This particular one was of Dr Mackay who was  the first foreign missionary to be commissioned by the Canada Presbyterian Church (predecessor of both the Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada), arriving in Taiwan on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 1871.

I could see beautiful art work everywhere we went. This particular corner store had the windows and walls all painted with lovely portraits.

Built by the Spaniard back in 1644 this building now houses a museum which gives one an insight to how life was back then in the olden days.

The famous Lover's Bridge

The famous Lover’s Bridge

This is one of the main attractions in Dam Shui- The Lover’s Bridge.

We didn’t walk along the bridge as it was rather hot and it didn’t seem that romantic as it was nearly afternoon when we were there. Maybe if we were there in the evening it would be a different story.

The ferry we took back to the Train station

The ferry we took back to the Train station

We had the option of taking the bus or this ferry back to the train station. For about  NT$60 one could take a 20 min ferry back to Tamshui waterfront.

The view of  waterfront from the ferry

It was great viewing the place from the ferry as it gave me another perspective of the place that we visited.
