May Edition Meet Me On Monday

bread

Last weekend I completed my bread baking class. The certificate of course completion was handed out to all the students at the lesson. 4 weeks have really whizzed passed very quickly.  During these four weeks I have learned a lot about bread baking and how it is not really what I am passionate about. It can take anywhere between 6-18 hrs to bake a loaf of bread.  A lot of time is spend waiting for the bread to be proof before it can be scored and placed in the oven to bake. The actual baking time can be from 7-25 mins which is relatively lesser time taken as compared to baking a cake.

I think that I won’t continue doing sourdough bread as it takes way too long to get it up and “active” while making a loaf. I’ll stick to using instant yeast if I am baking bread again. I feel that making cakes is certainly much easier and my next quest will be learning how to make mousse cakes and more fancy cakes.

Natural U Daily Body Rub Review

natural body rub

Last month I was privilege to receive Natural U- Daily body rub for review. I have been looking for organic product  which can help relieve sore muscles and was pleasantly surprised when Catherine of Natural U said that they do international reviews of their products.

Created by two mums looking for a remedy for their dry and itchy skin, Natural U provides natural and organic (certified by the Soil Association!) skincare products that come in cute  little glass jars.

The Daily body rub is made from shea butter, Sunflower seed oil, beewax, olive oil, calendula oil, sweet almond oil among other ingredients the rub not only smelled good but was also not oily to the touch. It applies easily and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy after application.

I have been having sore neck and back aches due to carrying Tiger girl who is a hefty 12kg at 20 months old.  She still prefers to be carried at times even though she is able to walk and run now. Carrying her around the house and when we are out causes a strain on my neck and back even though she is in a carrier on most occassions.

I used the body rub on my neck and back at night before turning in for the night. The next morning the muscles were less sore and there was less tension in my back. I tried it out for about a month as I wanted to see the effects of the product over a longer period of time.  Out of the four weeks  I used the product for 2 weeks straight then stopped for a week before applying it again for another week. This was because I wanted to test the difference between using it and not using it.

My conclusion:– Applying the balm really helped to soothe my sore muscles. I could really fee the difference when I apply it and when I don’t. Applying it certainly helps me feel more refreshed in the morning and having  muscles which were no long feeling extremely sore.

I definitely recommend this product if you too as suffering from sore necks and back aches.

You can find Natural-U on Facebook and on Twitter .

If you wish to purchase your own body balm and rub you can visit their website.
