Colorforms Revolution App Review and Giveaway

My little girl has been really crazy about the Colorforms Revolution App since we downloaded the free version a few months back.  Imagine her delight when we told her that we were given the opportunity to review the full version of the App.

Description

The revolution is finally here with COLORFORMS® REVOLUTION™ HD, the new iPad app that allows your entire family to experience Colorforms® like never before! Combine shapes, colors, patterns and backgrounds in endless combinations to create an infinite number of exciting designs. Or choose a Play Set with themed stickers and backgrounds, put them in a scene and a story is born. Play a Puzzle Board to build a picture and see it animate. Or go wild with the crazy circle, surprise square, kaleido-triangle & radical rectangle. With simple controls you’ll figure out as you go, Colorforms® is good wholesome fun for everyone. Just pick it up, start playing and join the revolution!

I tried out the  Puzzle boards and play sets with her. Tiger girl, my 22mth old,  had some difficulty placing the shapes into the correct holders. I had to guide her most of the way. I guess it will take her some time for her to learn how to do the puzzles independently

I found the theme play sets really interesting and fun to play. Tiger girl enjoy pasting stickers all over the play set. Each time she finishes a creation we can save it to the gallery or go back and edit it.    The “Go Wild!!” option is a  a simple game here and there, and mix in some fun & silly sounds of different music. You can be as creative as you want creating your own masterpieces.

I found another use for the theme play sets. I could use it as a teaching point or story starter for teaching her elder brothers composition or practicing their oral skills leading up to the final examinations at the end of the year.

You can view the app in action in the video below.

You can give the Colorforms app a test drive with the FREE version they also offer in iTunes, or you can purchase the full Colorforms Revolution app for only $2.99 in the App Store!

Writer’s Workshop: In July Last Year

I had been looking at the archives of the blog to fit the writing prompt which I had chosen for this week.

#1-  Recycle a favorite post from July of any year that you have been blogging. The blog has been around since Dec 2007 and there has been so many different posts in July which I really enjoy reading. After deliberating for awhile I have decided to

*First posted in July 2011*- Mama Gets The Last Laugh

Monkey Boy when he was about three years old.

Back then when Monkey Boy was still a toddler he was already very argumentative. He is apt in trying to manipulate and get his way. However he is not able to succeed each time as mummy is able to outsmart him on most occasions.

I don’t know if you will find this hilarious but here was how that conversation went.

Monkey boy was playing with a toy with me watching on.

Me” Why are you doing that? ”

Monkey Boy ” I like it that’s why?”

Me ” That is not the proper way of handling the toy.”

Monkey Boy (looking displeased) ” I’ll tell my mummy!”

Me ” Yeah ! What do you want to tell me? ”

Monkey Boy ( Oops!!)

Fast forward to today he still gets on my nerves especially when he tried to worm his way out of situations by putting the blame on others instead of being responsible for his own actions.

(A conversation that took place today)

Grandma ” Why haven’t you finish eating your lunch yet”

Monkey Boy ” It’s mummy’s fault she asked me to practice the piano that’s why I don’t have time to finish eating lunch”

Me (annoyed by still remembering to remain cool) ” Whose food is grandma talking about?”

Monkey Boy ” My food ”

Me ” Precisely!! So the person who’s  food is one the table should be responsible for finishing it.  .. and since you have claimed that the food is yours the person who should be punished for leaving food on the table is …YOU!!”

( Don’t try to push the blame on others because of your own laziness or inability to keep to the schedule given. Your mother has experience handling many different types of kids so you don’t stand a chance of outsmarting her as yet. )

Have you been in a similar situation as me?

How do you handle argumentative kids like Monkey Boy?
