Bedside Drama Princess
I have a wish. A wish for at least 4-5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I’m asking the sandman to sprinkle an extra heavy dose of sand on you so that you can sleep longer each night. I’m not asking much.. just at least one hour more of sleep instead of waking up 2 hourly to nurse.
I can feel you tossing and turning in your cot before you start sounding your ” milk call”. My greatest nightmare would be to see you starring back at me with your eyes open. It would signal that you are totally awake and a torturous task to lull you back to bed.
Every night it’s the same.. nurse the baby and put her back in her bed. I’m trying my best not to let the baby sleep on my bed as she really takes up lots of space. The worst thing is that she likes to toss and turn and can do the 360 degrees spin like her brothers.
I will have to change her to a full size bed soon as she seems to be outgrowing her cot at a really rapid rate.
I can’t wait for this sleeper to “graduate” and move out of our room.

I have twins, and I’m so glad we took a lot of photos and video, because honestly, I was sleepwalking for the first year. She’s a beautiful baby. 🙂 I wish you a long sleep, soon.

Once both my boys hit about 5 months we had to move them out of the room because we were such restless sleepers that our movements would wake them up!
I hope lots of sleep comes to you soon!!!

@Erin,
I hope to but am not that hopeful as her elder brothers were at least 3 years old before they could sleep through the night and then came night potty training and it took sometime before they could go to the toilet by themselves. I’m targeting to switch her out by the time she hits 1.5yrs old.

Ahhh…sleeping babies. I love when they are asleep but the constant waking and moving around is difficult. I’ve always had my babies sleep with me but the moving and kicking is terrible. I hope you get the little one trained soon to sleep through the night.

@Jessica,
I hate the moving and kicking and them wanting to lie on your arm. For such a small person it’s surprising that their heads are really heavy. I working towards cutting down the night feedings to once when she turns 1yr old in Sept. *fingers crossed**

When I gave birth to my boy 2 yrs ago, we placed a baby crib next to our side of bed and almost every 2-3 hours in the first month, I’d have to wake up, carry him out and nurse him for about 20 minutes then put him back gently into his crib. It got so tiring that I decided to co-sleep and placed him next to me and just nursed him every 2-3 hours even though he’s sleeping (it’s called dream feeding). It solved all my sleeping and tiredness problems cos I can just pull up my top and nurse him and we both continue sleeping 😛
And we’re still doing this 2 years on (not to mention I’m 5months+ pregnant) though of course, nowadays it’s down to once or twice of comfort nursing at night time sleeping.

Oh, that sounds exhausting. I don’t have kids, but if I did I think the lack of sleep would be the hardest for sure. Sleep well!

You do not even want to know how old my girls were before I moved them out of my room……3 and 5!!! I am such a pushover.

I was so lucky with my son. Second day home from the hospital and he slept 4 hours. By 10 weeks, he was up to 7 hours. My heart always goes out to the moms whose babes are more challenging in the sleep department. That is so hard and I fervently hope you get some long-awaited sleep soon.

My son slept in his room since the very beginning. I got up to bottle feed him all 4 h ! The first 3 months are the worst, then it’s getting better !

lol..oh, how I remember those days!
April 28, 2011 @ 5:37 pm
I used to keep mine in my bedroom for the first six weeks and then put them in their own rooms. I was really needing my sleep by then, even after six weeks!
Darling baby.

Oh what a beautiful baby you have. I can just barely remember those nights many many years ago. I hope your little one sleeps through the night soon. And I’m not even going to mention sleepless nights because of menopause…

Oh she is so adorable! As hard as it seems, just enjoy these sweet baby moments. My baby is already 8 and my first born almost 11! It goes by too fast:( You won’t always be sleepy. Savor that little cherub of yours:)

JDaniel used a flail his arms to try to try to keep himself awake. He never wanted to sleep as a baby.

Just the cutest little thing. You will forget these sleepless nights one day. I’m looking back on it being eight years ago and I’m sorry to say it is a good night when we are not awakened by bad dreams etc. Maybe one day… sigh.

What an adorable sleeping princess! She has the greatest baby cheeks. Good luck with the sleep though!

Oh, what a beautiful baby. I hadn’t thought about middle of the night feedings in years. Your post made me recall those moments. I always liked it when I didn’t have to get up for work the next day…which was rare.
I hope you get a good nights rest soon!
I’ll be happy to babysit for you!
Thanks for the smile.
