Ryan’s Planetary Obession

Ryan has been obsessed with learning about our solar systems and planets around us. Ever since he has been introduced to the book on  Mercury. Over the weekend we borrow books on Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn.

Ryan’s amazement with the moons around the plants and their make up fuels his interest in astronomy. He is now asking for us to bring him to the Science Centre yet again for him to look at the exhibits on display.

He now knows that it takes varying amount of time for a planet to make a single rotation around the sun. The further the planet is away from the sun, the longer it will take for it to travel around in a rotation.

He also knows that some planets have rings and even more moons then earth and that we may not be alone in this universe as it has not been proven that there are other lifeforms around.

It is interesting how curiosity can fuel one’s need for knowledge and make one more determined to read up on all related books/websites on astronomy.

There are many websites which one can use as a tool to introduce Astronomy to kids.

There are also some games on the Solar Systems which I will be checking out with him.
