We were indulging in the flora and fauna during our recent trip to Jeju island, South Korea.  Seongsan IIchulbong Peak is one of the places which we visited. It is one of the two UNESCO  World Heritage on Jeju island.  Also know as Sunrise peak it was created nearly 10,000 years ago during a volcano eruption.

This was the 3rd stop on our day tour of Jeju and we were not prepared for the hike that we were about to do up and down the peak.

It was a hard track up as the steps got very steep and we had to carry Tiger girl on the way up. It was simply exhausting but the view that we saw was rewarding enough.

The view was magnificent. On one side we could see the whole crater while on the other side we saw the rest of  Jeju island.

The houses look really tiny from the distance and we could see the mountains in the background.

While coming down from the peak we saw this view of the cliff. At the other end was a small cove where there was a diving center.

That was the location for the women diver show where by elderly women dive into the sea without breathing equipment to collect abalone.

Have you been in touch with Nature lately?

Where is the last place which you have visited?

Writer’s Workshop: Even Back Then

Tiger girl now at 2.5yrs old

Tiger girl now at 2.5yrs old

Being 2.5yrs old is certainly a nice age to be at. It’s an age where you gain your independence and the world and am not afraid to meet up to challenges that you may face. Everyday is a fun learning experience and you get to play the whole day. You are older now but still able to be regarded as a baby.

Help is readily rendered to you whenever you need help dressing up, being fed or face any obstacles.  Little things in life either fascinate or annoy you. You do not hide your emotions but display them clearly on your face. You can be bubbly and happy one moment and change into a screaming  terror the next when you feel that the world is caving onto you as you didn’t get the last sweet from the box.  Lucky the trying moments with Tiger girl do not last that long and she is able to compose herself after the outburst and back to her happy and sweet self.

Tiger girl is at the stage where she is very keen to do everything her own self and questions your reasoning/explanations.  It is good that she is learning how to analyze the different situations which she is in and also weigh in on the options that are presented to her.

I guess that it is a rite of passage that all toddlers go through. I once was like how Tiger girl is behaving at the moment.  I don’t really have any recollection of how it was being 2.5 years old. All that I have with me are the photographs which my mom took of me and my sister when we were on vacations back then.

Tiger girl and me

I would certainly been friends with myself  back then. I think it would have been great fun to have an interactive living doll to accompany me.

How were you like at your youngest child’s age?

Would you have been friends with yourself?
