Mom Tip Tuesday- Housetraining your Kids

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9MlelIMtFs&w=480&h=385]

I recently saw this meme- Mom Tip Tuesday and decided to join in this week.

I personally feel that teaching kids to help out at home should start from young. It is only through constant practice that they develop the habit of  helping out at home. I let my boys help with the vacuuming and cleaning since they were young as you can see from the video above.

By treating housework like a fun game they do not feel it is a “dread” to carry out the activities and it really helps me  keep the house clean and lightens my load.

What your toddler/kid can be taught to

  1. Vacuum the floor
  2. Put their clothes in the laundry basket after they change .
  3. Place the full laundry basket in the laundry room and load up the washing machine
  4. Pack their school bags.
  5. Place their cutlery/utensils in the sink after use.
  6. Help to placed folded laundry into their cupboard.
  7. Pack and stow away their toys after play
  8. Store away groceries after each grocery run.

NMEDA- Information site for Mobility Challenged

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometime life throws us a curve ball and it ends up with a family member suffering from mobility disability due to illness, accident or old age. If that person is the main driver in the house then you would need to source around for a specially adapted vehicle which would allow you to drive safely despite your disability.

Who can I look for for more information about getting theright equipment for a disable driver?

The NMEDA is a  American based non-profit trade association. This group does not sell anything. It  educates consumers on buying products from a NMEDA qualified dealer.

The main role of this association is to promote safe driving and equipment for disable people.   Their members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NMEDA dealers (members) are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.

How can I be ensured that the NMEDA dealers are givingme quality service?

To ensure that the NMEDA qualified dealers are providing service of the highest quality they have to undergo the The Quality Assurance Program (QAP). This program  is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. It is based on the principle that in order to satisfy customers consistently, companies must have a systematic and documented approach to quality.

What can a NMEDA dealer do for me?

It is best to get wheelchair vehicles that are specially custom to your needs.  Each person’s needs are different and it is best to get the right driving solution customized to your specific lifestyle and needs. This can be done with a simple ” personal evaluation” at any NMEDA qualified dealer as they know what is best for you and are able to make the “best match”.

By being able to get around the problem of mobility by having a custom fitted vehicle it would minimize the disruption to your family and your normal routines.  You also would be able to regain your independence faster and get back to the regular family life.
