Yes.

Rachel (ewe) , as described in the Hebrew Bible, is a prophet and the favorite wife of Jacob, one of the three Biblical Patriarchs, and mother of Joseph and Benjamin. She was the daughter of Laban and the younger sister of Leah, Jacob’s first wife. Jacob was her first cousin, as Jacob’s mother Rebecca was Laban’s sister.

Dominique– of God

Therefore the meaning of both my Christian name is – Lamb of God.

5.  Coke or Pepsi?

If  given the choice I will choose Coke over Pepsi.  However nowadays I try not to take any as they only add to the calorie count and are not really healthy drinks.

Dream Big Little Pig- A Book Review

Kristi Yamaguchi, the Olympic Ice-Skating Champion, Dancing with the Stars Season Six winner and mother of two, has just released a new book entitled “Dream Big Little Pig”. I was fortunate to receive a review copy to check out the book with my kids.

In the story Poppy Pig defied all odds by learning how to ice-skate and went on to become a well respected and admired ice-skater. Even though  Poppy  faced disappointments and didn’t succeed when she attempted to be a ballerina, singer and model she didn’t give up in following her dreams.

It helped that Poppy’s  parents, grandparents and best friends were always there for her and encouraging her each step of the way.  Their enthusiasm and support really helped Poppy find what she is passionate about and help her work hard to succeed in ice-skating.Poppy always firmly believed that she is able to achieve her dream and worked hard towards it.

As I read the book to my boys I explained to them that they too should persue their dreams. Even though at their tender age they may not know what they really want in life but it is never too early to work towards it.

It does pay to have a positive outlook of live and be hardworking towards achieving our goals.

One should never give up without trying. This fact is what I’m trying to install into Monkey Boy as he tends to give up easily once he is faced with some difficulties. It never pays to be lazy and not try. We cannot expect everything to be given to you on a silver platter.  Even though we experience set backs and failures you still need to get back up and try again to be able to succeed in life. You need to be confident and take both failures and successes in your stride.

I’m personally am working towards achieving my dream and I’m certain that I will be able to achieve it in time to come.

Do share this inspirational book with your child. I’m sure they will enjoy reading it together with you as much as I enjoyed reading it to mine.
