Thankful Thoughts and Music

Thanksgiving is not widely celebrated here in Singapore. However I’m joining in this  weekend hop as there  is a lot that I am thankful for.

First of all I’m thankful to be able to go to the National Orchid Congress last week  and see such lovely displays like those captured on photo above.

I’m thankful

  • that I am able to spend this year home with the kids. Taking care of them and witnessing all  Tiger girl and her milestones.
  • Everyone has been in relatively good health this year and I hope that we will remain healthy in 2012 too.
  •  Hugs and kisses from the kids and R and hearing from them say ” I love you”.
  • being able to remove a lot of negative elements from my life ~ toxic relationships and negative thinking.
  •  for being given the opportunity to place my family first instead of being thrown into the rat race.
  • for all the help given to me by my parents and MIL.  Handling 3 kids on my own has been really tiring and more so since R has been flying all so often.
  • spending time on my hobbies- blogging and cooking/baking.
  • that everything that needs fixing up/renovated at home has been done.

As most of you already know I love listening to Korean Pop music. I’m thankful that I get to listen and watch  one of my favourite groups 2PM via internet.

Here is a music video which they made here in Singapore.

SOC: Holiday Planning

#SOCsunday
The school holiday has started for the boys.  It will be a really busy 6 weeks till 2012 for me. I have to plan and execute activities to keep all 3 kids meaningfully occupied. It would be exhausting as R will be flying 3 out of those 6 weeks and I’ll be handing the kids solo again.

There are many places that run holiday classes for kids however I will be giving them a miss as firstly they are costly and it can be a hassle transporting the kids for the various classes besides those they already attend on a weekly basis.

I’m thinking of doing more hands on activities and bringing them to parks to play if the weather permits. I’m sure the boys would love doing more baking and science experiments at home besides me working on the areas which they need more practice in languages.

Maybe I have time to focus on Japanese which I have been putting aside all this while and really immerse the kids in this other language beside English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

We also have to start packing for our holidays to Bali in two weeks time. Time for beach and sun and lots of time in the swimming pool. It would be our first trip there and everyone is excited.

What do you have planned for the holiday season?
