SOC: Tackling an Infection

#SOCsunday
It has been a roller coaster week for me as Doggie boy has been tackling a stomach infection. This is the 3rd time this week that we have brought him to see the doctor. This morning we brought him to see the doctor at the hospital so that they could give him a thorough checkup. The doctor sent the stool sample to the lab for checking and we will get back the report on Thursday.

His diarrhea has not cleared even after being medicated for almost a week. He is still on antibiotics and I’m really thinking of keeping him home next week till he fully recovers. This is the 1st time that he is suffering from bloody stools and it has been a real scare for me. Luckily his fever is gone since midweek and he was able to enjoy himself in Bali with us. We didn’t take part in too many activities while we were on holiday and had a really relaxing time there.

How has your week been?

This week I’m grateful that we had a great time here in Bali despite Doggy boy being sick and less than 100% his chirpy self. He had been down with fever and diarrhea since Monday and have been on medication this whole week. I’m glad that the fever cleared by mid-week and that he is now nearly back to his usual self even though he still has slight diarrhea.

The kids and I got to see many different places which we would have been unable to visit back home. We got to learn about Balinese culture and how the people lived.   The boys visited rice plantations and we went up to see one of the dormant volcanoes that they had in  Bali.

The boys appreciate being in Singapore much more now as they know that the modern convenience that they have been so used to are not really available in other neighbouring countries.

 1. Who or what bores you enough to mentally drift away?

Listening to seminars, relatives chatting among themselves.

2. How many members of your family not living with you do you see on during the holidays?

Roughly 10 people. Many of my relatives reside abroad and only return during Christmas or Chinese New Year.
3. When spending time with family, how long after you arrive do you begin to feel “antsy” about being there too long?

Roughly 1/2 hr or when the baby starts acting up.

4. Does your family more generally get along at a holiday gathering or are there generally arguments?

We generally get along during a holiday. However there are some minor disagreements now and then.

5. Are you ever embarrassed by your family around friends?

Sometimes. It depends on who I am with and where we are. Sometimes having them around can be extremely awkward.

6. Of the celebrities that died in 2011, who will you miss the most?

I don’t miss anyone of them. I’m not into following any celebrities.

7. When you watch a movie in a movie theater, do you like the theater filled to capacity, halfway full, or nearly empty? Does your answer change depending on the type of movie you’re seeing or do you feel the same way regardless of the movie or genre?

I wouldn’t mind if the theater is empty and it’s just me and my friends or the theater being only 1/2 full. I don’t think my feeling changes irregardless of what movie I am watching.

8. What’s one really cool/useful/nice thing you purchased for yourself this year?

A kenwood cake mixer that R presented me.. it really helps to make nice bakes.

9. Are you in the holiday spirit yet?

Yes.. I’ve already start partying and going on vacations.
