Weekends are fun times for the kids and me. It’s the time where we can go out as a family if R is in town. Last weekend we brought the kids on a car ride and we ended up in a playground in Thomson as we wanted to break our journey for some tea.
The kids headed straight for the swings when they saw them. Even Tiger girl wanted a bit of fun on the swing and R had to go on it with her.
The boys loved swinging around and didn’t want to stop but thirst got the better of them and we adjourned to have tea at Awfully Chocolate.
The kids spotted another swing at the back of the shop and ran to try it out after finishing their cake and drinks.
I didn’t manage to snap any pictures of our tea so am showing what we had for lunch on Wednesday- Teriyaki Chicken Don.
It has been 16 years since I first laid my eyes on you. It all started in Melbourne where we first met as University students studying in the same university. You were my senior and we were studying in the same faculty. Both of us were living on campus but in different dormitories.
Back then at 18 yrs old I was a first year Commerce student while he was in 2nd year. I was never that good in accounts and consulted him several times regarding homework assignments in accounting. Thinking back it was a right decision that I didn’t pursue a career in accounting as he did or I will be seriously hating seeing numbers all around me.
I can’t remember who was the person who introduced us to each other however it all started from the first semester I was on campus. It was easy to talk to R and we shared many passions in computer gaming and food. We had the same circle of friends and met up very often.
During one of the weekends we decided to hire a car and travel along the Great Ocean Road with a few friends of us. It was a 5 hour drive from the campus to the 12 Apostles and back. During the long drive there with some guy friends and R I was asked by Nick if I was going to marry R and how certain I was about him. I was quite baffled by that question as R and I had only been dating for awhile and certainly wasn’t expecting this type of question to be coming from a guy friend.
It didn’t take me long to answer him. I confidently told Nick “Yes, I’m sure he is the one“. I’ve never regretted my decision. It has been 11 yrs of marriage for us since 2001 and I’m sure there are many more years to come.
