Ramen and Sandwich on a Friday

Ramen with black soup base
A few weeks ago I went to a Ramen shop at Star Vista for lunch. The ramen sold at that shop was slightly different from the one that I have eaten before. I ordered black pork ramen with a black soup base. I have always wondered how the black soup base would taste like compared to the normal soup base that I have tried before.
It wasn’t as tasty as I imagined that it would be. In fact I found the broth a bit too oily for my liking and nothing really spectacular. I guess that many ramen shops in Singapore are simply overrated and certainly not worth the $16-$18 for a bowl.

Sandwich and Soup
During a lunchtime date with R I tried out this set meal at Greenwich Shopping Mall. It had a sandwich shop similar to Subway. I ordered a turkey ham sandwich and a soup. The sandwich was really tasty but the soup was a bit too cheesy for my liking.

hmm, from the photos I thought it would taste delish. ramen is perfect during this cold weather, especially if it’s hot and spicy. 🙂

@Van,
Pictures can certainly be different from the actual. Am going to try to make my own ramen soup base in the near future 🙂

Dining-out is really quite expensive and most of the time, not really satisfying. For the weekend, we are just eating home-cooked dishes and mostly veggies.

I’ve been eating a lot of bread! The cheesy soup I think is of my liking. 🙂

oh, that’s too bad the black ink ramen wasn’t to your liking; would love taste something similar. 🙂
