Writer’s Workshop: Dining Xperience Monkey Boy Style
Monkey boy loves Japanese food. Every week he would request to eat tuna mayo sushi , udon or soba for lunch or dinner.
On the weekend when we go out for dinner he would request to go to Sake Sushi or any other restaurant which serves Japanese food. Raw salmon and salmon roe(Ikura) are among his absolute favourite.
Chicken Terriyaki Bento or Curry chicken udon are what he would order if we are eating out at a food court as sushi would be unavailable. He loves tempura too and dipping the deep fried vegetables into the tempura dipping sauce. In fact he loves most Japanese foods but passes on the wasabi for the moment.
Sometimes to satisfy his craving of Japanese food we cook tempura and other Japanese food at home during the weekdays.

Oh goodness he’s more adventurous than I am. Neither my hubby nor I eat Japanese food so my daughter has not tried it. For awhile she liked rice but won’t even eat that now so going out for Chinese has become a challenge.

We ate at a Japanessee restaurant only once. I like Chinesse food over all much better. We typically get Kong Paw Chicken or Chicken Sesame or Shrimp Fried Rice – all cooked entrees. I am not a raw fish eater period so Sushi that’s uncooked would not appeal to me in the least. However, I know both of our daughters do like Sushi now as adults and I can’t think about even begining to try uncooked anything. lol

I’ve only dated to let mine try chawanmushi so far. I’m guessing she will like things like oyaku don but I’m not too sure about letting her try the raw or fried stuff yet.

I’m so surprised that such a little one would love sushi. I am not a big fan of it myself. Maybe I just can’t get past the idea of raw fish.

my first try of eating of sushi and maki were never a success on my taste buds. maybe i’ll try other dishes.

My kids love sushi and the noodles. Japanese noodles are different. They are heftier and much more expensive, lol. The photos are making me hungry.

Japanese food is a fusion of unique flavors. That’s why I will never tire eating Japanese food.

I am not a fan of sushi, but my two older children are!

We don’t eat Japanese food.
I would love to have some really good meal in Japanese!
It would be nice to visit a restaurant. I think I’ve been only once. We rarely eat out.
Aloha.

Japanese food is not my favorite but I like some of them like Chicken Teriyaki. Tempura is indeed a good home alternative to satisfy cravings. 🙂

I am a huge fan of Teriyaki and most of the cooked foods. My Grandchildren love to go to the Japanese Restaurant.

Yum! I love Japanese food…and other type foods too :o) I do love the biting taste of Wasabi! But goodness, it can surely clear out your nasal passages and beyond, if there is too much :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
I am visiting our daughter, son in law and little grand baby, so only now catching up a bit with blog visits from last week!
