Turning 38 this year

The kids and me

The kids and me

Turning 38 was a vast different from being 37. Even though I celebrated my birthday with the kids like last year the dynamics was different as priorities have changed since 2015.

Everything seems more intense as radical changes have been made in my life as I break out of my comfort zone.  Learning and acquiring new skills and making adjustments in my current lifestyle to prepare for the changes ahead.

The kids too are moving on  to different stages of the life and are at pivotal points too.

Monkey boy is moving on to secondary school and Tiger girl will be entering primary school next year.

This year it was only the kids and me as R has left the picture.  It was a more cozy atmosphere with less tension and stress as we no longer have to deal with his unpredictability and broken promises.

Eliminating toxic people and behavior from my life has been one of my goals. No longer do I allow people to spoil my mood nor my plans for their own selfish gain.

I’m only spending time with people who value me as much as I value them.

I’ve set up boundaries which I will not hesitate to enforce them if the need arises. I’m clearer about what I want and what I need to get to my desired goals.

How did you celebrate your birthday this year?
