The World is Wrong
The World is Wrong – Steve Simpson
The World is Wrong by Steve Simpson is a Science Fiction book targeted at teenagers. Something in the world is very messed up. Steve, Marie and their friends find that their memories of certain events that happened in the past seem different from the way they remember it. As the day pass there seems to be more and more discrepancies in their recollection and many people who were nice towards them become increasingly aggressive.
There is something certainly gravely wrong in the world and it is up to Steve and his friends to set things right with the space time. With their newly created the machine they try to reset time and continuum till when it was before the machine was developed and faced a lot of resistances and challenges on the way.
My thoughts
It has been a while since I last read a science fiction- time travel related- book. I initially gave the book to the boys to read however they have yet to read it due to their heavy school loads.
I found the plot a bit confusing to follow along especially towards the last few chapters as there were many clones around of the main characters- Steve, Marie, Jenny and it wasn’t clearly where the clones came from and what they were doing in this current space and dimension.
I find it weird that there were zombies thrown into the equation during the re-positioning of time back to equilibrium prior to the development of the machine. There were quite a bit of twist and turn to the plot as they required about 4 tries before everything was finally reset and everything was back to normal.
Do pick up a copy of the book if you are interested in your kids reading Science fiction stories.
