Do you love pizza and pasta? The kids and I certainly do. Last week we headed to Modesto Pizzeria for a belated birthday lunch for R. Modesto’s Pizzeria had recently been relocated from Level 1 to Level 3 and offered dining with a view from the skypark.
It was a relatively short walk from the carpark through the sky park to the restaurant. Even though it was a relatively hot afternoon we were spared been scorched by the sun as there was a covered link way leading all the way.
Upon entering the restaurant one is greeted by a black tiled wall and a glimpse into their kitchen. The dinning area is divided into two parts- the dining room and the bar area. If you wanted a different dining experience there is a rather large area for alfresco dining.
For $12.90++ the kids could choose from a range of pizzas or pasta( drink and ice-cream included.) from the Junior set meal.
The boys opted for Wurstel (Tomato, cheese and chicken sausage) pizza while Tiger girl had Carbonara pasta.
The back of the kids menu was a coloring sheet and the kids busied themselves coloring with the small set of color pencils which each were given.
It didn’t take too long for the food to be served. Food started to arrive after being seated for about 10 minutes. We ordered a variety of dishes from the main menu.
For starters we had calamari, salad, garlic bread and soup. The Crema Di Fungi was really flavourful as it was made from freshly pureed mushrooms.
The Calamari Fritti was another tasty treat. It was chewy and tangy and there was sufficient pieces to go around the whole table as the serving was rather large.
The kids love eating garlic bread. The bread was really crispy and complimented the mushroom soup.
R and I love the taste of the salad. The dressing was not too overpowering and the slices of avocado really tasted well with the fresh vegetables.
We ordered Lasagna as our main as I love eating Lasagna. I have eaten this dish at many different places but the one we had that day has to be the best. It literally feels like it melts in your mouth when eaten.
The thin crust pizza was a hit with the boys and they happily ate their pizza. The serving was rather large for my 6yr old Doggie boy and we had to help him finish his meal. The portion size was just right for Monkey boy though and he cleared the whole plate by himself.
Tiger girl too had difficulty finishing her portion and had to share it out within the rest of the family.
The strawberry ice-cream which she had for dessert as part of her set menu was enticing enough to make her finish her pasta. It was a really big scoop and she loved the fruits and biscuits which were added to the ice-cream. The kids and I really enjoyed our lunch and wouldn’t mind to come back for another meal at Modesto in the near future.
