It maybe true the ban may have caused business in the entertainment sector to slow down and even close but the main cause of closure is due to the slow down of economy and the businesses inability to adapt to changes and be innovative in keeping their existing clients and looking for new ones. I support this smoking ban implemented by the Singapore government as it is to the benefit of all our youth and people in the bid to promote healthy living. These closures have put 10,000 people out of work and resulted in lots of them being made homeless. This is only the tip of the iceburg as there are many other suppliers to the trade that are affected. This scenario comes to all places that have smoking bans they say that non smokers will fill the establishments but they never materialise. Think long and hard because and resist all bans they are also divisive and split communities. In the Uk over 2600 of our great pubs have already shut due to the smoking ban, they are now closing at the rate of 35 a week.
