Tuesday Toot – Book Reviews
This week I did a couple of reviews managed to break my target of reading at least 2 books a month within a week. I still have quite a few books left to read and review. Hopefully I will be able to get it done by next month.:)
Other achievements- I changed the RSS & E-mail subscription buttons on the blog to a cuter design. Next step I need to take would be to tidy up the footer in this blog? Any suggestions on how to tweak this blog so that it will look nicer?

Sneaky Monkey
This evening while preparing dinner Ryan came bouncing into the kitchen and requested for a bottle of Vitagen. Seeing that he asked nicely I took one from the fridge and gave it to him.
“Thank you mummy,” spoken like a Angel. ” You’re the best!!”
After drinking his bottle of Vitagen he wasn’t satisfied and eyed Roy’s unfinished bottle which was on the table.
” Mummy if Roy doesn’t want his bottle, can I have it?” asked Ryan.
” No. You had your one bottle and that’s all you are getting for today,” I told him.
Putting the vegetables to fry I turned away from him for a moment.
Can you guess what that Sneaky Monkey did. He silently drank up his brother’s bottle of Vitagen.
” What happened to the bottle of Vitagen? ” I questioned Ryan. ” Did you drink it?
” No” he replied looking innocent. ” Roy was thirsty so I gave it to him. He finished it himself.”
” Are you sure?” I questioned him again ” Roy drank up the whole bottle?
‘Yes!! That bottle was his and he drank it all up”
Real Liar… It was impossible for Roy to drink the bottle as it was put on the table which was too high for him to reach. Hmm.. now I must really find new methods to make him know the importance of not telling fibs.

The child can choose to play in either adventure or activity mode as they tackle the reading and writing activities. With Mia, your child will be travelling on her own adventure through the Victorian house from one room to another solving and clearing the various reading tasks set in her way.
With the technology that only a DVD-ROM can offer, Children will be captivated by the high quality 3D animated world of Mia the mouse as they embarked on their reading journey. The DVD-Rom is a dramatic improvement from the original reading series- The search for Granny’s remedy – which was launched 10 years ago.
You just have to look at these Screen shots to see how detailed and rich the graphics are in this reading software.
The benefits of this software is that it is highly interactive and parents/teachers are given a easy to follow progress evaluation which charts the child’s progress using the software. The levels of difficulty setting also allows for the software to be paced at the reading ability of the child.
It is highly entertaining while at the same time being educational. Do check it out. I’m definitely going to get a copy for my son to try out.

Wear Clean Underwear- Alexis Martin Neely
Wear Clean Underwear by Alexis Martin Neely is a MUST BUY for parents.
I was privileged to be able to review this book before it was launched and must say that the contents really blew me away. It got me thinking of how fragile life is and the need for parents to set down clear instructions on how their kids welfare will be taken care of if *touchwood* they came to an untimely demise.
Alexis gives three case studies in her book. Each case study comes with an alternative ending based on whether the parent has/hasn’t taken the appropriate planning with it’s legal implications.
She mentions the need to plan for
- Alternative Short term/Long Term caregivers for your children
- Distribution of your estate/monies & personal belongings
- Allowing members of your family to access your medical files in case of emergencies
- having a log about what you intend to do for your children in the future.
After reading her book I realized that I haven’t really considered the points that Alexis had highlighted and how important it is for me to get it done soon.
To know more grab the book when it hits the stands in May.
